GIVE A BED. SAVE A FAMILY.
Within hours of an overdose from heroin in June of 2008, former professional basketball player, Chris Herren was released from the Hospital with no healthcare coverage and little money to his name. Friends stepped in with modest financial support and Chris entered a 30-day treatment program. This gift not only saved Chris’s life, it saved his family.
Today Chris travels the United States to share his story, advocate for those struggling and provide hope that recovery is possible. As a result, The Herren Project receives thousands of desperate “calls for help” from others facing the disease of addiction and looking to take the first step on the road to recovery. The Give A Bed. Save A Family. program was developed to answer these calls, to provide access to comprehensive rehabilitation programs for those open to taking the first step in their recovery journey with little or no financial resources.
The Give A Bed. Save A Family. program will provide life-saving treatment scholarships for addicts and a second chance for the families who love them. Join the THP Give A Bed. Save A Family. program today by committing to donate one bed per year for a THP client as identified by the THP Treatment Navigation team. Please note, to be considered an application must be completed, the facility must be in operation for at least two years and be JCAO or CARF certified. All applications will be reviewed by an advisory board and and if accepted as a partner, a signed agreement will be executed.
